EOC Exam Update
This message is for families of students enrolled in courses that have End-of Course (EOC) Exams: Algebra 1, English 2, Biology, and US History. The purpose of this email is to provide details regarding taking the End of Course exams and grading.
EOC Exams will be offered in Algebra 1, English 2, Biology, and US History and will be administered to in-person students at AC Flora next week and the following week (May 17th-28th). Virtual students may choose to come to campus to take EOC Exams, but it is not required. We need all virtual EOC students to RSVP by clicking here. This form will also ask you if your student needs bus transportation to the exam. If your student is F2F, please do NOT fill out this survey. To be clear, these exams will be offered to students who are currently enrolled (virtual or F2F) in the EOC classes.
The EOC Exam grade may count as a test grade in the 4th Quarter marking period for any student who takes the exam. Additionally, all students (virtual and F2F) had the opportunity to take the TE21 Benchmark Practice Test via their regular EOC classroom teacher. This practice test has been graded and the higher of the two scores (EOC or TE21) will be counted in the grade book as the test grade for the 4th Quarter. Again, this applies to all students who take both assessments.
EOC Exams are a state assessment that will be administered to in-person students first block on the designated day(s). However, we respect and understand that our virtual students may not feel comfortable coming to campus to take the exam. If this is the case, virtual students will simply be given the grade for their TE21 Benchmark score. Again, to be clear, virtual students who choose to not come to the in-person administration will be given the TE21 Benchmark score as the test grade. They will not be penalized unless they fail to take the TE21 and the EOC, in which case they will get a zero for the test grade in the 4th Quarter.
Virtual students coming to campus to take the exam should arrive in the Gym no later than 8:00 am on the day of their particular EOC Exam(s). Virtual students will be dismissed to log into their afternoon classes from home. After testing, they may contact their parents to be signed out of school. If your child needs bus transportation home, they will be able to log on to the remainder of their classes for the day from school, have lunch, and then ride the bus home in the afternoon.
In order to properly plan, we need all virtual EOC students to RSVP by clicking here. This form will also ask you if your student needs bus transportation to the exam. If your student is F2F, please do NOT fill out this survey.
Thank you for your continued flexibility and patience as we navigate the end of this challenging year! If you have any additional questions regarding End of Course exams, please contact Mrs. Tiffany Ligon at email@example.com.
Thanks and Go Falcons!
