Theatre Seniors Present Classic Screwball Comedy

Join 2 casts of ACF Theatre Seniors in Eric S. Hatch's classic screwball comedy, MY MAN GODFREY, on February 5 and 6, 2021. Set in the depths of the Depression in New York, our story follows Godfrey, a "forgotten man," who is rescued from his packing-crate home by dizzy socialite Irene Bullock during the course of a scavenger hunt. Offered a job as butler to the banking family of Bullocks, Godfrey tolerates their eccentricities and general nuttiness until a new realization comes upon him. Can he rescue the Bullocks from their reckless behavior before it's too late? First published as a serial in Liberty Magazine, the story was later issued as a hugely successful novel. Author Eric S. Hatch was summoned to Hollywood to write the screenplay for the famous 1936 film with Morrie Ryskind. The film starred William Powell and Carole Lombard and was nominated for the Academy Awards for Best Actor, Best Actress, and Best Screenplay. MY MAN GODFREY will stream virtually on Friday, February 5 at 7:00 PM (Cast A) and Saturday, February 6 at 7:00 PM (Cast B) at the following links on Showtix4u.com. Virtual Admission is $5 plus processing fees. Official Tickets go on sale the day of each streaming show. Advance presale tickets may be purchased at the links below beginning February 2- using the codes mmgcasta (Cast A) and mmgcastb (Cast B).
